Gotta Find My Purpose . . . Gotta Find Me!

A few weeks ago a group of young adults in a Central Indiana Disciples congregation were asked: “If you could ask God one question and get a direct answer, what would it be?” The number one answer . . . “What is my purpose in life?” However, is it possible that God has already answered that question but we were so consumed in our own lives that we missed God’s answer? If we missed God’s answer, will God continue to try to reach us, or have we really simply missed our opportunity to discover our purpose in life.

Personally, I believe that a life without God is a life without purpose. The good news, however, is that God will never give up on us, even if we may have given up on ourselves. I also believe that if one truly wants to discover their purpose in life, they must listen to their hearts because it is impossible to discover your purpose in life if you don’t even know who you are.

So, how can we find our purpose in life? Maybe we should start by taking time out of our busy lives to get to know ourselves while continuing to take time to engage in a meaningful relationship with God. Any thoughts?
